Cut Off Wheels

Widely used in metal fabrication shops, as well as by do-it-yourself enthusiasts, cut off wheels are one of the most common bonded abrasive products. When used properly, they are considered to be a safe and efficient tool for metal fabrication. Whether cutting softer metals or stainless steel, cut off wheels are available in a wide variety of sizes, thicknesses, qualities and strength. Quality and safety go hand-in hand, so one of the best ways to limit the chances of injuries or error when using cutoff wheels is by choosing the right cutting disc for the job.

Type of Cut Off Wheel

Cut off wheels are widely available in Type 1 and Type 27. Type 1 (flat) wheels are designed primarily for cutting, with more available surface for more cuts, and can be more flexible. Type 27 (depressed center) wheels enable a flush cut on flat surfaces because the lock nut is secured within the depression of the wheel.
